What about all the ubuntu changes? Are they still needed? Are they merged into the Debian package or do we need to keep them (-> merge)?

I am running my home server on Karmic with cryptsetup, lvm2 and mdadm from Debian "squeeze" (unstable) plus a few dependencies that aptitude identified. The initramfs hook and script structure for these three are tied, and they have changed appreciably from what is in Karmic. Therefore, I found it best to include all three, not just LVM2 for which I wanted the --dataalignment option. So far, things are working fine.
