Bug Description

Binary package hint: lvm2

Although presented as an option in the usage message, lvm2 cannot create mirrors - it was not enabled in the package.

I haven't tried to actually create a mirrored volume yet (I used to have two disks, and the "used to" is the reason I am investigating this...), but after

    modprobe dm-mirror

lvcreate -m1 no longer gives an error.

(This is on Edgy, btw)

Actually, there are 2 issues in this report: One is that dm-mirror is not auto-loaded when necessary. This is the linked debian bug report. The fact that dm-mirror doesn't work is discussed in Bug #121527. Please subscribe/contribute there if you are interested in that bug.

Still no support for the mirroring option built into LVM2 in Koala.

volume works fine in gentoo.
not found in Koala.
non-mirrored volumes found and work normally.
