Bug Description

When trying to release a partition so I could resize it I was requesting that all of the logical volumes in my volume group were closed using the command below:

    vgchange -a n datavg

Normally the volumes all disappear from device mapper and the underlying disk is closed. In this case the device mapper mappings were still present after completion of the command.

On closer inspection of the udev logs we determined that actually they are closed out and removed. The kernel then emits a change even for the underlying disk device as it is closed which causes them to come straight back.
