Lyn Perrine (walterorlin) wrote : lubuntu software center does not show unsitalled packages in the repository when installed on alternate install

To reproduce install a lubuntu from the altenrate installer on either i386 or amd64. Then open lubuntu-software center type a pacakge that is not installed in lubuntu for example sakura.

lubuntu-software-center:
  Installed: 0.0.10-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 0.0.10-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 0.0.10-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ vivid/universe i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
Description: Ubuntu 15.04
Release: 15.04

I expected lubuntu software center to allow me to install packages. Instead I could remove a package from the installed software center but it would not find any new package on lubuntu software center. If I installed ubuntu software center in another vm and installed something then I could install packages in lubuntu software center even after I removed ubvuntut software center so this is a potential workaround.
