Software Center doesn't include Search Box when LVM option is selected during installation

Expected: I expected the software center to include the search box as I had seen in my previous installation
What happened: Sofware Center didn't include the search box

I installed Lubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr LTS after realizing that Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr LTS was too resource intensive for my system. During this first installation I didn't include the LVM option. After working with the new installation I decided I wanted to re-install it.

During the second installation of Lubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr LTS I opted to include the LVM option. When Lubuntu was installed, I opened Software Center and noticed that the search box was missing. At first I searched this online but couldn't find anything. During my search I came across information about LVM and wondered if that could be the reason. I then downloaded and burned to a disk an image of KillDisk and ran it to wipe my computer.

After that, i re-installed Lubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr LTS once again but without selecting the LVM option. After installation I opened Software Center and, lo and behold, the search box was included again.
