Bug Description

To reproduce Boot the Lubuntu 19.04 live session in a kvm vm iso and launch any program and try to type in any program and see that there is no way to input text.

I wanted to use the keyboard to pass trhough in a windowed mode text to a virtual machine on kvm and have the text pass through. Instead I am only able to input text with the onboard virtual keyboard. I can move the mouse and was only able to get the bug filed through appport by installing the onbaord onscreen keyboard. I do not have this behavior on an older disco vm. If I use onboard to finish the install I do get to use the keyboard in the vm to passthorugh on the installation I am able to type words.

I was unable to reproduce this on a Lubuntu 19.04 host machine using the 4.19.0-13-generic kernel and qemu-kvm 1:3.1+dfsg-2ubuntu1. My keyboard worked in both the live system and the installed vm. I also tested Oracle VirtualBox 6.0.4-dfsg-5 and had no issue there as well.

Actually this brings up a good point. I assume the reported versions are that of the image rather than the host. So what's the nature of the host system Lyn?

I have not found this issue on other guests either but they were fully installed.

Invalidated as a weird fluke, or at least a non-issue at present.
