Bug Description
Binary package hint: lubuntu-
Since Lubuntu is not using appindicator for now, we need to add an icon into the notification area for pidgin. Otherwise, we don't have any icons for the status, and closing pidgin close application, instead of hiding it.

This bug might be obsolete now (as it was reported a while back).
In Lubuntu 11.10, which uses Piding 2.10.0, this behaviour can be achieved by enabling 'Show system tray icon: Always' inside 'Preferences' (Ctrl+P) under the 'Interface' tab.
