Lubuntu Cosmic mistakenly opens LXDE Xsession by default

Bug Description

Upon login:

Xsession: unable to launch "/usr/bin/lxsession -s Lubuntu -e LXDE" X session --- "/usr/bin/lxsession -s Lubuntu -e LXDE" not found; falling back to default session.

Hitting ok results in expected behavior. Impact's minimal but it's annoying and unnecessary.

Also we may want to just clean up and minimize the sessions in general. Why we have four is beyond me.

When first logging in to Lubuntu Next, the default session is "Lubuntu", which
as said above, does not work...

It is confusing, when looking at the options,
when one finds all four options seem like reasonable choices,
and only the last ("Lubuntu Qt Session") actually works...

"Lubuntu" sounds good.
"LXQt session", likewise.
"Openbox" also, if one knows that that is the WM, seems reasonable.
"Lubuntu Qt Session" is the one that works.

I might also note, that for a new user, trying Lubuntu Next,
that the lack of an option with the word "Next" in it, might be confusing...

Why do we need any options but the last one?
Are the other options useful for some purpose?

[This is from the official non-official non-release release of Lubuntu Next:
the last daily: 20180421_bionic-desktop-amd64.iso , from which I selected the
minimal install...]

Thanks for the post, and yes, it would seem like the default session
option, aka "Lubuntu" should "work" w/o error, and also, traditionally
"Openbox" has been a separate DE from "LXDE" . . . making that choice not
obvious . . . .

But, yes, following your advice I selected the bottom item in session,
"Lubuntu QT session" . . . and it opened without the error.

@Walter:

Once the "Lubuntu QT" session is selected upper left the problem is solved
. . . as someone who multi-boots and/or traditionally had a couple DEs per
install "more sessions" is not the problem; the problem is when the listed
sessions either don't work, and/or throw an error requiring an extra step
to get past, as in the case with what must be the regular "Lubuntu" session
here. If there is an option for logging into a "regular Lubuntu" session
from Lubuntu Next that might be "value added" . . . similar to how Lubuntu
has included "OpenBox" DE alongside . . . .

The main thing to change might be that the default session for Lu Next
would be the "Lubuntu QT" session . . . also as in the past there might
have been DE's or sessions included that "didn't work" . . . no need to
erase them, just have the one that works be first up as "default."

Actually we fixed this and then uncovered https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lubuntu-default-settings/+bug/1771681 which is now fixed too. Next daily (20180517) should do the trick. Note there will be a default LXQt session and an Openbox one and that's it. I'd like to remove the Openbox one but it comes with Openbox and it's pretty hacky to remove it, so it's just there, but I have no intentions of really supporting it much.

OK, thanks for the effort on it . . . I did do some updates today, but haven't checked to see if that effected the choice of sessions . . . .
