~/.config/openbox/lubuntu-rc.xml is not used in live session

The file that becomes ~/.config/openbox/lubuntu-rc.xml is not in the live session of lubuntu open lxappearnce click on title bar click on lubuntu-default and click apply and it will say "An error occured while saving the config file '/home/lubuntu/.config/openbox/lubuntu-rc.xml'". Also the shortcuts alt +f2, super +r do not work to bring up the run dialog for lxpanel alt f1 or ctrl escape does nto open the menu. Control alt delete does not lxtask which is specified in this file. Control alt t does not open lxterminal. Also there are 4 desktops by default instead of two but like in a new install.

I expected to be able to change the window border in customize look and feel and the keybidings specifically for lxde to work. Instead it seems they are replaced with the openbox defualt config file in the live session.

That file is not present at all on a live session. The file probably cannot be written due to permissions - because root owns ~/.config - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lubuntu-meta/+bug/1419366

And a parital work around gets xpad and able to change the titlebar by running the command sudo `chown lubuntu .config/ ` allthough this does not get the correct file loaded for keyboard shortcuts.

On the feburary 13th desktop i386 image .config seems to be owned by lubuntu the live session user and the keyboard shortcuts seem to work. Xpad starts up and the window border changes.

I can also confirm this appears to have been resolved on the 15 February 2015 daily vivid amd64. Keyboard shortcuts work as expected, and ~/.config/openbox/lubuntu-rc.xml is where it should be. I am going to mark this as incomplete so it expires if not updated again. If anyone still encounters this bug, please update.

This bug has appeared again in the latest version of Lubuntu as of 3/3/2018.
