2017-11-16 05:55:18 Thomas Ward attachment added sbuild logs, amd64 build run for nginx_1.13.6 which show that libluajit was installed but were not found by ./configure https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1732598/+attachment/5009883/+files/nginx_1.13.6-0ubuntu1_amd64-20171116-0049.build

2017-11-16 06:01:21 Thomas Ward description Discovered thanks to my uploading new NGINX versions to the PPAs, there is a significant change from the prior version available in Artful or such. That is, with the nginx package, it FTBFS when pulling in libluajit, on only amd64, i386, and armhf, stating that it cannot find the LuaJIT libraries in /usr/ or /usr/local. So either libluajit is beyond hopelessly broken, or paths have changed and I have to update nginx. Since this built fine in the previous libluajit, though, I'm going to assume that it's libluajit specifically. I'm attaching Bionic sbuild logs from an amd64 build run. I'm also setting "High" priority on this bug as well. I'm also setting "Critical" priority on this bug as well as it prevents updating of another piece of software in Main, and the only real difference is luajit.
2017-11-16 06:11:13 Thomas Ward summary Recent upload to Bionic (autosync from Debian) no longer builds properly for nginx in amd64, i386, armhf on Bionic Recent upload to Bionic (autosync from Debian) no longer works properly when nginx searches for LuaJIT libraries
