Bug Description

ltsp-build-client doesn't work behind proxys. It seems to me that it doesnt look after /etc/apt/apt.conf where the proxy is in.

If you want to install it you have to add following lines to /etc/bash.bashrc:

export http_proxy=http://username:<email address hidden>:port/
export ftp_proxy=http://username:<email address hidden>/

and reboot.

Is it possible to fix it in order to use the normal apt-configuration?

Confirmed, 020-apt-get-update should also check apt.conf for PROXY.
I'm not sure if debootstrap will check that file though so you may need http_proxy anyway.

note that you can also do :
http_proxy=http://username:<email address hidden>:port/ ftp_proxy=http://username:<email address hidden>/ ltsp-build-client

to achieve the same as modifying bash.bashrc but without rebooting.

This also affects the install package, when trying to install the LTSP server from the alternate CD, it will fail the entire installation.

New release of LTSP correctly handles proxying for both debootstrap and the chroot itself.
