Bug Description

When a command like this is run:

$> lsof -n -P -i -- /dev/null

a list of open files relative to sockets and /dev/null files should be displayed together. In that case I get only the output relative to "-n -P -i".

The lsof's version on repository is quite "old", 4.81. Please update it.

summary: - lsof returns uncorrect informations with '--' option
+ lsof returns incorrect informations with '--' option
Dave Gilbert (ubuntu-treblig) wrote :

Hi slamdunk,
I believe the problem here is that your '-i' is expected to be followed with a value, and the -i is consuming the --; but I agree this is a bug.

Changed in lsof (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Triaged

Hi Dave,

you can run 'lsof -i' without options (for example different case is '-c' that needs one parameter). In Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS it works fine but not in Ubuntu 11.10.
