So far on my computer, it's only crashed lshw; the Ubuntu 15.04 remains functioning.

This bug affects me, too.
As user (WARNING: output may be incomplete or inaccurate), it yields output an terminates correctly.
But 'su lshw' yields the crash and the reported error message:
*** stack smashing detected ***: lshw terminated

I found the same behaviour with xpaint when moving a selected region and reported the bug:
   https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xpaint/+bug/1440115
Maybe this is related and shows a general problem with Vivid - so I would be interested if others
can reproduce this bug, too.

It this is related, maybe this even affects security ... so an experienced devoloper should look after that issue.

JMB

I'm also affected by this bug, however it only occours when playing AAC files for me MP3 and FLAC play without issue.

The only messages I get in terminal are
"*** stack smashing detected ***: clementine terminated", it then hangs for a moment followed by it crashing entirely. I'm on Xubuntu 15.04.
