Bug Description

lprng fails to start at boot.

neumann@Silvester:/etc/init.d$ sudo /etc/init.d/lprng start
Starting printer spooler: 2006-03-11-00:19:12.822 localhost lpd: Cannot open lock file '/var/run/lprng/lpd.515' - No such file or directory
lprng.

mkdir -p /var/run/lprng fixes that error.

I think this need to be major since, for me, lprng did not start at all without creating that directory.

I've patched the init script since.

/var/run is a tmpfs. The init script has to be updated. Debdiff follows.

It adds "[ ! -d /var/run/lprng ] && mkdir /var/run/lprng" to /etc/init.d/lprng.

   * Updated init script: it makes sure /var/run/lprng exists
