The justification for wanting a backport is simple, no new users can easily discern that they have even installed a program. There is no menu listing, and no clear way to run the program. The program becomes totally unusable without a workaround (such as adding a desktop file, or manually running the program each time)
[Test Case]To reproduce the bug simply install lmms, it has no desktop file and cannot be found. one has run it from CLI or Alt+F2
[Regression Potential]the possibility of regression in small, as the bug is a severe regression from the previous versions. The upstream has been tested in various PPA's and has no sign of the bug. |
