Bug Description
On my Gateway MA7 laptop, I have Ubuntu 12.04.1 installed with the latest updates.
I decided to test Ubuntu 12.10 beta 2 within VirtualBox 4.1.12 (4.1.12-
At the end of the installation, I pressed the Restart button.
It initiated a shutdown but it did not restart automatically and froze at a black screen with the following last line of text: "The system is going down for reboot NOW!"

within: Ubuntu 12.10 (fully up-to-date as of Oct23rd 2012)
with: VirtualBox 4.1.18
while installing: ubuntu-
