W: Unable to locate package packagename

client looses the /var/run/lirc direstory made during install of lirc. tried reinstalling several times, lirc is made at insall but disapears after restar. if manually made (/var/run/lirc) and command sudo lircd -d /dev/lirc0
, then sudo /etc/init.d/lirc restart, all works again. tried adding directories to /var/cache/mythbuntu-diskless/overlay/001bb9cfc3ca/var/run/lirc and in the /opt/ltsp/amd64/var/run/lirc (then remake image) but nothing seems to stick.

so /var/run is cleared / recreated on every boot.

The LIRC init script creates the directory when the "start" command is
pushed, so how is this not working properly?
