No more lirc module

Binary package hint: lirc

I have both a Hauppauge PVR-250 and PVR-350 installed and have been using their infrared hardware detectors without problem up until yesterday's package update. Now it seems there is no module capable of accessing the IR hardware on either card. The lirc daemon has nothing to which to connect.

When you say yesterday's package update, you mean what package got updated?

Unfortunately I don't know exactly which package as several were updated. There seems no longer to be kernel support. Or at least I can't determine which module is supposed to work with the PVR cards. The kernel was one of the upgraded packages.

I too have this problem. 9.04 current as of 6/11/2009.
I have three PVR cards installed, 1x 350, 2x 150.
With 8.04 I had three /dev/lirc# available to me.
Now I only have two. Same modules loaded in 9.04 as 8.04.

Launchpad says this is a duplicate bug when commenting -- but I don't see ANY links to the original, nor any other indications that this bug IS a duplicate. What gives?
