Bug Description

Binary package hint: lirc

I hope this is the right section to post this in. I'm using KDE 3.5.9 under Hardy with the irkick system. On each boot, irkick cannot see the lirc server. I have to restart the daemon in a terminal and then restart irkick in order to use my remote with KDE. Naturally, this doesn't happen when logging out and logging in...only after a reboot.

On my kubuntu box, kdm starts before lirc: /etc/rc2.d/S51lirc and
/etc/rc2.d/S13kdm.

This also broke irexec auto start for me.

marking this as a duplicate. Mostly because we need an upstart style script to solve the real problem here (that services shouldn't start until lircd is ready)
