Bug Description

I have recently upgraded to 11.10 and had an issue with my Twinhan USB DVB device. Having passed the initial problem
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/870123
Now I have the issue where the system responds as if the tab key is being pressed every few seconds whenever I am using the DVB device. This occurs with me-tv, gnome-dvb-daemon, tzap and scan. This makes the system unusable while the dvb device is in use.

I can confirm this behaviour on Ubuntu 12.04, Lubuntu 12.04, Linux Mint 13, and Solus OS 1 (All have version 3 kernels). Does not happen with Linux Mint 10, or Ubuntu 10.04.

Same problem on a "Fujitsu-Siemens DVB-T Mobile TV Tuner" stick with TwinhanDTV Alpha/MagicBox II chip. Ubuntu 12.04(64), firmware file is dvb-usb-vp7045-01.fw
Keeps sending tab keys when running kaffeine, xine or w-scan.

I have also the problem, I observed it first after "upgrade" (actually fresh install) from kubuntu 10.10. to ubuntu 12.04 64bit

dvb-usb: found a 'Twinhan USB2.0 DVB-T receiver (TwinhanDTV Alpha/MagicBox II)', print on hw: Fujitsu-Siemens

I can confirm that the workaround to disable ir polling via

/etc/modprobe.d/dvbt.conf:
 options dvb-usb disable_rc_polling=1

found at: http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-1997606.html works for me. But unfortunately now all remotes using ir on the stick are unusable.
