Bug Description

Binary package hint: linuxlogo

$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 8.10

Codename: intrepid
$ apt-cache policy linuxlogo
linuxlogo:

        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Following the manual, I did:
$ linux_logo -L list

..which returns a list of "available logos":

Do "linux_logo -L num" where num is from above to get the appropriate logo.
Remember to also use -a to get ascii version.

Typing in a command "linux_logo -L 2" (or any number) always returns the debian logo.

great, it works, but I think you meant that it has to be commented:
#-L debian

Thanks for the solution, I've just made a debdiff patch for it (attached).

Added test packages for jaunty and intrepid in my Launchpad PPA if anyone is interested to test:

I just checked the source again, the jaunty package is now 5.04-1.
I made another debdiff for that one (attached) since that's the one that will probably be accepted.

I've sent a follow-up mail to the debian package maintainer, with a debdiff for the debian package of linuxlogo: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=504717

This was fixed in Debian unstable:

http://packages.debian.org/sid/linuxlogo

 linuxlogo (5.04-2) unstable; urgency=low

   * Prefixing debhelper files with package name.
   * Removing default logo in /etc/linux_logo.conf (Closes: #504717).
   * Using debhelper install file to install additional files instead of
     install target in rules.
   * Using quilt instead of dpatch.
   * Adding description in menu file.

Can someone merge linuxlogo 5.04-2 to Ubuntu jaunty?
