computer freezes when wifi is turned on

I am using Pangolin.
I am using the latest version.
I expected my wifi to turn on.
It froze my computer and I had to hard reboot.

Was same for me on RTL8191SEvB Wireless LAN Controller (rev 10). Now looks okay.
Except that sometimes Ubuntu 12 loses a connection when stand alone (with no activity).

This has been happening to me since the last LTS release. I did upgrade over the regular OS version though.
