Can you test again with the proprietary fglrx driver?

Tested with kernel 3.2.0-31.50, it still hanged on resume. Need to press the power button for a while to turn it off. No related log can be found.

And on the first boot after hanged, the system may fail to enter graphic mode. The screen is blank, but system still responds to keyboard input. Error messages like this can be found in the log:
[drm:r600_ring_test] *ERROR* radeon: ring test failed (scratch(0x8504)=0xCAFEDEAD)
[drm:evergreen_resume] *ERROR* evergreen startup failed on resume

kernel 3.2.0-31.50 + fglrx 8.982, no luck, still fails to resume.

Tested with a pre-install image, which based on maverick, on 8044. This time although resume from suspend works, the capslock LED keeps blinking after being resumed. And in dmesg there are a lot error messages like this:
atkbd serio0: Spurious ACK on isa0060/serio0. Some program might be trying access hardware directly.

according to comment #6, it looks like is the same bug as bug 1058303
and they just came out a patch for their issue, maybe that patch is worth to try.

The patch in bug 1058303 does not help and system still hangs on resume.

System still hangs after resume with raring kernel 3.8.0-27, w/ or w/o fglrx (2:9.012-0ubuntu1) doesn't make any difference.
Upgrade to saucy (kernel 3.11.0-1 with unity-system-compositor) doesn't help either.

Tim Chen / Jesse Sung, could you please provide the information following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend ?

As well, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the daily folder, but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.11-rc5

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, please comment as to why specifically you were unable to test it and add the following tags:
kernel-unable-to-test-upstream
kernel-unable-to-test-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your understanding.
