I don't believe that it is an Nvidia bug as I have an AMD graphics card. Tried using both command "sudo shutdown -P now" and top right computer icon to shutdown but hangs. Only happens if computer is on for a long time. I have to press button to restart computer, log in and then shutdown using the gui. This bug has been there since I upgraded to 12.04 (clean install).
I'm surprised that this bug is only rated at Medium importance. I am running 3.2.0-30-generic
