Bug Description

I am on Ubuntu 12.04 64bit updated to 14.4.2012.

With the kernel 3.2.x series ath9k driver got many additional stability, but it is just not enough.

Under many connections the bandwidh of my wireless connection breaks down <12bytes from 700kbit at maximum.

This is nearly a collaps of the wireless connection and should not be.

Reproducing:

1.Go to http://software.opensuse.org/121/de and choose the torrent download option for the openSUSE dvd.
2.Start the torrent with transmission.
3.See your bandthwidh going down with increasing numbers of torrent peer connections.(no neccessary datatransfer - only connection establishing).

The hardware I use is TP-Link5008 - Atheros AR5416

melchiaros, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text.

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.

Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance.

melchiaros, thank you for testing the mainline kernel. Which kernel(s) did you test specifically?

Sorry, Christopher but this here seems to be an misunderstanding.

I have added kernel-unable-to-test-upstram.

This here was reported on Ubuntu 3.2.0-23.36-generic 3.2.14

melchiaros, no misunderstanding has occurred. We would need to know which upstream kernels you attempted to test, and the results of this. If you just did not test any kernels, then adding the tag "kernel-unable-to-test-upstream" does not apply. Thanks!
