Samsung NP530U3B here. I can confirm what most people say:
- When I installed ubuntu 13.04 "raring ringtail", kernel 3.8.0-31-generic, everything was working perfectly:
- lid state was detected correctly, and laptop was going to sleep automatically
- batery state was also detected fine
- After a few cycles of suspend/reboot lid state and battery state are not detected correctly (although /sys/class/power_supply/ADP1/online _does_ report the correct value).
- Suspending the laptop triggers correct detection of the battery state (although it takes a while for gnome-power-manager to notice). However, the lid state is still incorrectly detected: acpi_listen does not print anything when the lid is open/closed (nor when the battery is plugged/unplugged, even when gnome-power-manager ends up detecting the right state)
