Hi Mike,

aufs has purposely been disabled in Precise 12.04 in favor of overlayfs. Anyone needing aufs is encouraged to migrate to overlayfs. We have yet to hear of any cases where overlayfs does not meet the needs previously satisfied by aufs. The latest overlayfs updates have also been integrated into the 12.04 kernel. Thanks.

There are a few tasks that still need to be carried out.

Most important the user-space tools need to be updated(even removed) to reflect this change.

Secondly the configuration should have it's config_aufs_fs set to no.

no longer affects: aufs

Are there any instructions on migrating?

I had forgot to mention that I'm attempting to fold a casper-rw(cow) image and filesystem.squashfs into a new filesystem.squashfs.
