After pressing power button display stays off and there is no disk activity. With 3.0.0-14 it's perfectly fine.

I posted a test kernel for this bug. The test kernel has the commit reverted that may have caused this regression. Can you please test this kernel and report back if it resolves the issue? Please post your results as a comment in the duplicate of this bug, which is bug 904569 ?
