OK, I tried a lot of times, but can't get apport-collect work, I didn't find the file launchpad.credentials, and I tried touch /home/root/.cache/apport/launchpad.credentials, also elinks was tried as will, Is there any other way to send the debug package instead of apport-collect since I am using a pure text headless server.

On apport-collect: w3m can be used as a browser on headeless servers, could you please open another issue, if you still can't use apport?

Obviously that bug is related with network manager, is there a network manager in Ubuntu server without GUI?

Yes, it is installed by default. Could you please try WOL after
disabling/removing the manager as in original report?

I am using static IP addresss , and I'm still not sure if the "Network manager" will be installed in a Ubuntu servre without any GUI installed?

Hi there!

I too have this bug.

I have removed the newtork manager and set up dhcp with interfaces.

Seems like the shutdown command is too aggressive (my 2 cents)

temp fix, i've disabled Shutdown by
chmod 0 /sbin/shutdown

i'll use iboot to restart my ubuntu 11.10 for time being.

ubuntu 11.10 is so awsome!!!

Check state of our network card using "acpitool -w". If it's disabled, enable it manually using "acpitool -W X", where X is the number of your card. It worked for me.
