Ubuntu 6.10
For every version of Ubuntu since 5.04, sound on my Toshiba Satellite SA-50 has been intermittent -- by which I mean it works for a few weeks, then stops working for several months, then starts working for another few weeks, and so on. I've been upgrading regularly.
I realize this isn't the most useful bug report in its original state, but Daniel Chen asked for it ;-), and I'm attaching all the debugging output requested. |

Possibly related: Whenever I insert an audio CD, I get the error message "The currently selected audio profile is not available on your installation". The message is incorrect, as the list of GNOME audio profiles is empty.

Unfortunately sound stopped working again a few days after my previous comment.
I will try with an Intrepid alpha 2 CD when it is released. |
