Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.38-8-generic

After upgrading from Ubuntu 10.10 to stable 11.04 (2.6.38-8-generic), Fn-F2 key stops working. This key corresponds to wireless (both bluetooth and wifi). Laptop is Acer Aspire 1551. The last working kernel was 2.6.35-29-generic.

Confirm this bug. After turning off wireless card through Fn-F2, I can't enable it.

Dell Inspiron 6400. Ubuntu 11.04 after upgrading from 10.10

After pressing Fn-F2:

Workaround, which helped me.

To enable wireless card use rfkill utility.

sudo rfkill unblock wifi

'man rfkill' for more info

Blacklisting acer_wmi module on 2.6.38-9 fixes the problem.

could you update your kernel to 2.6.38-11.48 and test whether blacklisting acer_wmi is still required?
