Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-generic-pae

I've tried logs and https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend to no avail

From what I read kernel hungs as CapsLock stops working after resume.

I have also tried 2.6.37 and 2.6.38 from kernel-ppa (backport ones) with no luck - I see the same behaviour.

I'll try MainlineBuilds and will report here as an comment.

So I have tried also KernelMainline both 2.6.35 and 2.6.38 failed. I get the same problem - suspend goes fine (I see some HDD activity) and when I try to resume nothing happens. CapsLock doesn't work and I can't see any HDD activity (LED is off at all times) after I press power button (or any keyboard button).

I'm not sure how can I debug this issue, any ideas?

affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu) → linux (Ubuntu)

Hi Marcin,

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 721795

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

I have tried latest Alpha1 (11.10) and I get the same behavior all the time - so newer kernels don't help.

I just tried Ubuntu 10.10 with acpi=off via grub - this makes suspend impossible now - maybe this is acpi problem? some broken support for this model?
