This list
http://www.touch-base.com/documentation/Identifying%20Touch%20Screen%20controllers.pdf
says it is based on Quanta

(but with different (USB Pid = 3001) instead of (USB Pid = 3000))
Can it be a driver matching problem ?

Me too! What's the status on this??

i've just bought an HP2310ti and a Revo3700(AtomD510) and I'd REALLY like to get the multi touch working.

Anyone had a luck so far?

Support in natty will trickle in from upstream. Cheers!

Confirmation that this actually works in natty would be great. Thanks for testing!

Henrik,

I've upraded my system from 10.10 to 11.04 Beta 1, installed utouch, and run geistest. The text output looks good and seems to be working! I'm not sure if I'm supposed to install the patch you kindly added above. I didn't.

Two questions:
1. Is there a geisture/multitouch app I can run to see it working rather than the text output from geistest.
2. The desktop itself interprets the touchsceen like a mouse, BUT, a left click is only effected when the figure is released from the screen. This is in contrast to expected behaviour and what occurs under Windows7. I use XBMC "Confluence Touch" under windows and it works like a charm. In ubuntu it doesn't work due to the aformentioned issue.

Let me know if I can provide you with any more details, logs, etc or run any further tests.

Regards,
Peter.

Peter,

1. There is the mtview package to see MT data on screen, directly from the kernel device.

2. An evemu recording would be great to see what you mean here. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Multitouch/Testing/uTouchEvEmu. Also, if there is anything you can point to in the output from xinput or xev, that would be great.

Thanks!

Henrik,

Firstly, thanks for all the support it's greatly appreciated.

1. mtview works fine and shows that 2 fingers can be independantly tracked. There are however a few issues.

2. Recordings posted above..1) is a single finger placed and not released. 2) is a single finger placed and released...3) if I quickly tap the screen I get 0 bytes recorded, but I know the action has occured at some level because the cursor moves to the new location.

Is it normal that the desktop cursor does not move/respond until the finger is released from the screen (or a drag is detected)?

I think a video might be in order so that you can see exactly what I mean.

Thanks again,
Peter.

Thank you very much for the recordings. When submitting evemu data, please also provide the properties file using evemu-describe. This will make it possible to reproduce the problem remotely. Thanks!

Until when can we expect a fix released status? It would be very nice if a cheap multi touch monitor supports ubuntu multi touch gestures.

The uTouch project is no longer providing hardware support. I am transitioning this bug to the Ubuntu linux package. Any fix will need to be provided through the Linux kernel.
