Bug Description

IBM Thinkpad T60 (laptop computer) drops wireless network connection every few minutes. The radio must be turned off then back on using the switch on the front of the laptop to regain connection. Large data transfers seem to trigger the problem immediately - for example, an FTP session might make it through 4 or 5 mp3's before the network disconnects.
The wireless router is a Netgear:
Hardware Version WGR614v10
Firmware Version V1.0.2.26_51.0.59NA
Region North America
Channel Auto (11)
Mode Up to 54 Mbps
The same behavior occurs with WEP turned on and WEP turned off and with various permutations of these settings on the wireless router:
Fragmentation Length (256-2346): [2346]
CTS/RTS Threshold (1-2347): [2347]
Preamble Mode [long or short]

Hi James,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.
