Bug Description

I believe this is highly related to these bugs:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/601986
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/508516

The problem has worsened in Maverick beta. I used to eventually (after 7 or 8 minutes as described in the bugs above) be able to boot my system without using the "nohz=off highres=off" kernel command-line arguments. The system will never boot without these parameters now.

I wanted to post my apport-info to bug #601986, but apport encouraged me to file a new bug. This is it. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help get this resolved.

Hi Cameron,

Could you try this comment https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/634702/comments/19

Look like the same issue as bug 634702

Hey Ike,

Thanks! That did fix my boot problem (I no longer need to add nohz=off highres=off). I still have the issue with slow boot/suspend, but it sounds like that is unrelated to this bug.

Thanks again.
