I set up the USB pendrive using Windows Vista.

I tried again with the ubuntu-10.10-beta-netbook-i386.iso and got a a
similar result to the alph3 version that I reported.

Did you set up the USB using a 10.10 install, or an earlier version?

Bug description:
Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat) Alpha 3 PC (Intel x86) netbook live
CD
Failed to boot

maverick-netbook-i386.iso was installed to USB pendrive using
unetbootin-windows-471.exe
When booting from the pendrive (UNetbootin Default) on an Acer Aspire One
AOD260 the following was displayed:

FATAL: Error inserting ramzswap
(/lib/modules/2.6.35-14-generic/kernel/drivers/s
swap.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmsg)
No init found. Try passing init=bootarg.
