[945GM] Patch for graphics hangs

This is a tracking bug for an upstream patch http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/airlied/drm-2.6.git;a=commit;h=944001201ca0196bcdb088129e5866a9f379d08c and preceeding commit 45503ded966c98e604c9667c0b458d40666b9ef3 .

This is a patch to prevent a class of GPU hangs on 945GM cards. It's CC'd to stable@, and should end up in 2.6.35 at some point. If it doesn't, we should pick it up, and it might be worth a Lucid SRU.

It seems there's a reasonable chance that this would fix bug #400934, bug #451518, bug #475429, bug #500686,
bug #501875, bug #342675, bug #493111 and bug #450853.

Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily/current/ . If the issue remains, please run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Heh - yes, these commits eventually landed in Maverick and Lucid (with 2.6.32-25.44).
