Bug Description

Once in a while I will have a Kernel Panic (blinking caps light). When I use to run single monitor the whole screen would go black and all I could see was a white mouse-pointer but could not move it. I would have to hard reset my machine.

Since running dual monitors, it just freezes and does not go to a black screen but since unresponsive.

It seems that running any music app and/or dual monitor increases the frequency of the panic.

My machine is a Thinkpad T41.

Hi Gene,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.
