Hi Seth,

Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If the issue remains, please run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 588113

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

I have ran the daily build CD and it also contains this bug, I will compile the upstream kernel to see if it may still be present there.

Seth,
Compiling shouldn't be necessary. The link above to the mainline builds should get you to an image to test on from the Kernel PPA.

Thanks!

Oh that would of been nice to know for the last kernel bug I worked on. But I have just tested that current 2.6.35-rc1 and the bug is not present there.

I have this problem with the latest daily live cd on my netbook. Also note that in Lucid the rt3090sta driver was used, but now rt2800usb and rt2870sta are loaded (I don't have a usb version).

BTW, using this kernel: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.36-rc5-maverick/ it all seems to work fine when installed on Lucid.
