Bug Description
I have purchased a 4G Systems XS Stick W14 (http://
When the stick is inserted into a machine running Ubuntu 10.04 RC - it is mounted as a memory device but the system does not recognise the UMTS modem device. therefore I can not use it for surfing on the internet.
There is a German language website which has a work around solution. but I have been unsuccessful getting it to work.

And a reference in the Kernel.org :

This stuff is too advanced for "normal" users - there must be an easier way . .
