Bug Description
Hardware: Lenovo T61
Kernel: Linux laptop 2.6.32-20-generic #30-Ubuntu SMP Mon Apr 12 15:19:41 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux
and
Kernel: Linux noamik-laptop 2.6.32-21-generic #30-Ubuntu SMP Mon Apr 12 15:19:41 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux
have both the following issue:
I did a system update today. Since than events/1 was consuming 30-60% CPU-Time constantly for hours and network via LAN did not work. The issue with events/1 can be solved by using "sudo rmmod e1000e".
If you do "sudo modprobe e1000e" modprobe uses 100% CPU for around a minute. After there is still no eth0 visible with "sudo ifconfig -a".
dmesg of modprobe e1000e:
