Bug Description
ppl trying to install Ubuntu on Toshiba T100 series would face a "Kernel panic"
(mine is T110)
this is temporarily solved using ndiswrapper as described here http://
I report this again because I installed the new Lucid and the problem still exists
here's some details:
1. I need to disable wlan card in bios before installing ubuntu or the progress bar would froze forever
2. after installing I need to blacklist rtl8187se (wlan card module of the machine), so I could login to the system with wlan enabled and using ndiswrapper to make it work
3. ***** AFTER ndiswrapper make the wlan work. I could do
rmmod ndiswrapper
modprobe rtl8187se
to make it work with native driver, this is weird..
hope you smart guys can fix this in the final version. I can't rely on ndiswrapper forever =)
PS people with a toshiba T135 seems have got a new version of driver by which their wlan can work fine (rtl8192se)
but T110 doesn't..

Hi Viaxl,
This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http:// cdimage. ubuntu. com/releases/ .
If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications- >Accessories- >Terminal) . It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.
apport-collect -p linux 545728
Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https:/ /wiki.ubuntu. com/KernelMainl ineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs- upstream- testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs- upstream- testing' text. Please let us know your results.
Thanks in advance.
