I installed the kernel, but have the same result-- gsynaptics doesn't disable the tapping. (nor does system, preferences, mouse). I tried loading gpointing device using synaptics package manager and it looked like it was installing, but then nothing shows up in system preferences or system administration, so either I don't know how to work the program or something didn't work on the install. I also tried downloading the gpointing-device-settings-1.5.1.tar.gzat the website and using that, but I don't know how to install it. I also still don't have the edge scrolling back.
