Bug Description

I'm filing this resume failure under the kernel, but I don't think that is it. I've tested on the .32 mainline kernel, .33 mainline, .32-12 regular kernel, .32 custom-build, all on lucid, and the same .32 custom build on karmic. Karmic was able to suspend and resume just fine, whereas when running on lucid (for all kernels), I can't resume from suspend. Suspend itself seems ok. The resume seems to make it part way, but video never comes back, and sometimes it just restarts (though that may be from plymouth).

In other words, I am having a failure to resume from suspend, but I think the issue is other than the kernel.

BTW, I have an nvidia card, but I don't have the restricted drivers installed. I saw a message on IRC that Nvidia users shouldn't expect to suspend or hibernate.

After logging into launchpad as apport-collect requested, I got the following crash:

@Daniel,

This may be a duplicate of bug #488720. Are you willing to install the proprietary drivers? If so, be mindful of the fix posted in that bug, and please retest. If not, then this bug will be closed as "Won't Fix".

I tested with the nvidia drivers, and commenting out that line, and suspend works fine now.
