Binary package hint: linux-source

After unpacking /usr/src/linux-source-2.6.29 from package linux-source 2.6.31.19.32, I tried to build the documentation, but "make xmldocs" fails with an error. For complete output see attached file.

[This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately.]

This bug was reported against the linux-meta package when it likely should have been reported against the linux package instead. We are automatically transitioning this to the linux kernel package so that the appropriate teams are notified and made aware of this issue.

If this bug really is a bug in the linux-meta package you can move it back to linux-meta and tag it kj-linux-meta, or contact us on the #ubuntu-kernel channel on the FreeNode IRC server. Thanks.

affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu) → linux (Ubuntu)

I got the same thing with "make mandocs" on 2.6.31-20-generic. There is a fix, as described on:
http://irclogs.ubuntu.com/2008/10/27/%23ubuntu-kernel.txt
Basically in linux-source-2.6.31/drivers/scsi/scsi_transport_fc.c, edit line 499 replacing /** with /*

AFAIK this makes no functional change, it's just that docbook gets confused by the /**
