Bug Description
Binary package hint: linux-image-
I'm running kernel 2.6.15-25-686 on a ThinkPad x60s. When the system boots (either after a full halt or hibernation) it hangs for approx. 2mins after displaying the line
"Uncompressing Linux... Ok, booting the kernel"
Then I booted in recovery mode. Now there is more debugging output. (I don't know in which file the messages below can found; hence, I copied them from the screen so there might be some typos.)
Begin: Mounting root file system
Being: Running /scripts/local-top
..... some message omitted
ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:1f.2[B] -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 201
=> HANG HERE
I did not have this problem with kernel linux-image-
This bug may be related to the problems reported by Alex Bligh in Bug #35174.
I'm also experiencing this, or something similar, with kernel 15-23.
I regularly get a 2 minute delay after the line "Mounting root file system..." is displayed.
However, occasionally it only stops for 10 to 20 seconds at this point. I haven't been able to work out what I've done differently to change the delay - it seems to be random.
This happens both on cold boots, and when resuming from hibernate.
