Bug Description

Hi.

I have this problem on my Ubuntu 9.10:

$ sudo modprobe coretemp
FATAL: Error inserting coretemp (/lib/modules/2.6.31-15-generic/kernel/drivers/hwmon/coretemp.ko): No such device

$ tail /var/log/syslog
Dec 2 12:21:50 pc04 kernel: [ 1201.743345] coretemp: Unknown CPU model 1e

$ cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep CPU
model name : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz

$ uname -a
Linux pc04 2.6.31-15-generic #50-Ubuntu SMP Tue Nov 10 14:53:52 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux

According to this link
http://lkml.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0910.1/02785.html

this should be fixed since nearly three months...
Any reasons for not using the latest version of coretemp?

greetings
  Ralf

This bug seems different from its duplicate (which only talks about atom cpus)

I still have the same problem with a more recent kernel and a fully updated ubuntu 9.10 install.
