Bug Description
I experienced some problems after my Upgrade from Jaunty to Karmic on my laptop.
Right after the upgrade, my computer rebooted and launched the kernel 2.6.31-15-generic with no problems.
But I could not use my keyboard at the gdm login screen.
So I rebooted and used the kernel 2.6.28-16-generic kernel, and the keyboard worked (but others things did not, maybe due to the use of an old kernel with Karmic).
After that I trier to restart with the kernel 2.6.31-15-generic, but during the kernel boot process, it hangs.
So I tried to set acpi to off, and then it booted and I could use my keyboard, but not my USB mouse.
This problem is quite annoying, because I cannot use Ubuntu correctly no more
The problems occurs on my acer travelmate laptop.
I am using 2 other computers with Karmic and those does not have this problem
Some news here.
When I boot with the kernel 2.6.31-15-generic with acpi=off, my computer is very slow and gnome-power-manager seems to have some problems.
I tried to restart and disabling gnome-power- manager, but the startup process seems slower.
