Bug Description

Suspend or resume works only once. When resuming I get the error message:

WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-2.6.31/kernel/power/suspend_test.c:52 suspend_test_finish+0x80/0x90()

Following this I cannot suspend or hibernate. The system will only do it once and I need to reboot in order to suspend again.

I will attach the kern.log below showing a successful suspend and then failed.

This appears to be fixed by adding pci=nomsi to kernel options in grub. Stand by.

Nope this did not fix the issue. Might be something I am installing (MythTV, mysql???)

Must be something else wrong. I have rolled back to 9.04 and used pci=nomsi and so far appears to be working.

Hi Owen,

The warning reported here typically indicates that it took longer for your system to resume from suspend than expected. I believe there is a 5 sec barrier which your system likely exceeded. Based on your dmesg output I see PM: resume devices took 6.352 seconds. A patch to prevent this warning has been applied via bug 464552. As a result I'm marking this as a duplicate to bug 464552. Please continue to track this issue at that report. Thanks!
