Compaq Presario desktop using ubuntu 10.04 LTS with no ACPI installed.

Same problem with messages.log maxed out. The continual logging bogs the system. If I edit the startup to include "acpi=off" or "pci=noacpi", the error stops logging, but NAT won't connect to the internet via eth0.
Repeating log entries:

Same problem with Fedora and Red Hat. Red Hat says they fixed it by "Truncate I/O addresses to 16 bits for Windows compatibility."
Fedora says their source code fix is here: http://kerneltrap.org/mailarchive/git-commits-head/2009/4/5/5411984
